I don't agree with belittling the child but I do agree choosing their activities for them, at least initially. Do we really need more virtuoso pianists and violinists, or do we need more true enjoyment of life and more concern for the public welfare? She would have loved it! Base on so many 5 star reviews this book gets, the author reached her goal. I suspect that the social environment has way more to do with outcomes than school per se. But by the time they are 18 allow them to see the fruits of years of hard work.
