I lined the dubbing up as much as possible before tying it on so there wasn't any trimming required. A bit too unruly. Thanks. Just takes practice.

I guess it goes back to my beginnings when fly tying material availability was few and far between - I would scrounge stuff from hunters and craft stores (of course these materials were very inexpensive if not free).

Everything is first rate and the dubbing has mini legs in it. Nothing gets me going more than some greedy individual trying to "cash in" on something because it is dedicated to fly tyers.

The weather is looking a bit dicey in the New Orleans area this weekend but hopefully we'll be able to get out at least one day.

These days, we have outfits like EP who want to charge outrageous prices for materials that cost less than the package the material comes in! I always start off strong and then finish with way too much. They are are huge amount of dubbing compared to the regular packages.
They used to set up a stand at some fly tying functions in WA. A bit too unruly.
